I don’t know why this makes me laugh, it just does. I get this mental image of a couple of lunching dragons with pinky talons in the air, daintily spearing a little crunchy person, dipping him in ketchup, and biting off his head.

I first saw this one years ago and it amused me, but now…now it is my life. It reminds me to pick my battles, and if it is in the “teach a pig to sing” file, it’s just not worth it.

This one is my siggy line. Sometimes my whole life feels like one big honkin’ wave after another, crashing in front of me. I sure can’t stop ‘em, but I can learn to ride them and get good at it. It’s also a reminder that I really want to learn to surf for real. Big dreams for someone who lives in a land-locked state.

I just watched a Ted Koppel interview with “Morrie”–the guy from Tuesdays With Morrie—it was an old interview–he’s long gone by now.
Anyhow, he said that he was talking to his meditation teacher who told a story about a student talking to an ocean wave. She asked why the wave wasn’t upset because he knew that he would eventually crash into bank and decease. The wave responded back that he didn’t worry about it because he wasn’t just a wave, he was part of the ocean.
Which really has nothing to do with your quote—-but that’s what came to mind.
