Hey, check out the calendar
Yes, it’s April 1st, aka April Fools’ Day. So far, breezing through the blogosphere, I’ve come across three pregnancies and one “I have to quit the blog because my HR department found out about it.” I’m sure there will be more throughout the day.
But not from me. For I hate, with the passion of a thousand suns, April Fools Day. Right now my boys don’t know of the cultural (in)significance of the day, and the later they do, the better for me. I don’t want to try to be surprised or amused by salt in the sugar bowl or Saran Wrap on the toilet seat.
Before you think I’m some sort of AF Day Scrooge, go read the post I wrote two years ago about AF Day and why I hate it so much. That event was nine years ago and I’m still trying to recover.
So today I’ll grimly chuckle over AF posts in the blogosphere and in the news. I’ll keep an eye on A and his friend. I’ll run errands in preparation of my scrapbooking retreat this weekend. But I will not participate in AF pranks today. I’m scarred for life. ; )
