That was one hell of a speech, one our children will be studying in school for decades to come. As I watched it, I felt an unusual sensation. It was warm and tingly…it was hope. I felt hope for this country, for the first time in a long time. Eight years, to be exact.
Denver, as a city, outperformed itself. Everything I’ve read has described the city as an exemplary host. While I am proud of that, we’re now going to have a whole buncha people moving here. ; )
And, finally, the word came down from on high not ten minutes ago that McCain has chosen Sarah Palin as his running mate. It’s supposed to send a message. Yup, I know what message it’s sending: pandering to women. And, dude, women hate to be patronized. Just thought you should know.
This is going to be one hell of an election season.
And if I could get my damned laptop back from the Geek Squad, I’d enjoy it a lot more.
I can’t believe McCain picked a woman whom has so little political experience to be vp. Total pandering.
I got all hopeful, too, this week. 🙂
It’s amazing isn’t it..and then there’s the cynics, where I turn off. I am thrilled, it was an amazing display. I saw some pics from inside the speech that a friend took, totally jealous.
There has been no other political speech that has brought tears to my eyes. All I can say is wow.
This IS going to be one hell of an election season. McCain’s tactic will work on some women, as unfortunate as that is. I’m just hoping the rest of the country has more sense than many people do in Georgia.
I agree with every word!
I have to laugh at the “she has no experience” comments. She’s ran a city. And a state. What, exactly, has Obama run?
Oh, but I digress.
Yeah, she ran a city, all right. A “city” by Alaska’s measure: it had 5,000 people. Oh, and a state, right. A state so corrupt that she looks fantastic by comparison even after she tried to get her state trooper brother-in-law fired while he was divorcing her sister. Yep, she’s a gem, all right.
Obama has approximately six bazillion supporters and a running mate who is experienced and smart and well-known. McCain just picked someone he can bully and who will not challenge him when he reaches for the red button.
Digress all you want. Obama is what this country needs.
Great post! I’ve been sort of boycotting Denver for a while since the hate initiative there in the late 80s/early 90s. Which is not to say that I have scads of cash to go everywhere on vacation, but Colorado has been off my list of places I’d like to go. Perhaps it is time to reconsider.
Awesome post! I just read it………(I had just posted about the RNC in Minnesota…ugh!) I wish we hosted the DNC. The RNC is painful!
