I got nuthin’

I feel like I got beat up-side the head by the weekend. Where’d it go? Suddenly it was Monday and I had to hit the ground running. Poor Tom had a root canal this afternoon; he came down mid-morning and asked, “What does it say for your day when it looks like the best part of the day is a root canal?” Ooh, sounds like somebody has a case of the Mondays! (Love “Office Space”!). Poor guy. He can feel his mouth now.

Saturday I went scrapbooking with 5 of the greatest and craziest women I know. I’m lucky to have them as friends. We have very little in common other than scrapbooking, but they are my closest friends. I think it’s because we have just enough in common to get along, and we’re sitting around putting our lives out there in albums for everyone to see. We know each other. And we know how to have a good time. Truly Never a Dull Moment with these ladies. We don’t know how to have a normal time! I love getting together with them, whether it’s for crop time, or going bowling with our spouses, or having the balloonless balloonfest at my house at the ungodly hour of 6am last spring (there’d better not be wind this spring!). We go on scrapbook retreats twice a year up in the mountains. I live for these weekends away. I need them, I recharge there and come home a new woman, a better wife, and a much better mom. Nothing like good friends, a hottub, strong martinis, and NO STRESS to do that for me! LOL I am truly a lucky woman.

Sunday we had church, friends who came over with their new baby (oy, she’s a former student…I’m too young to have former students become moms!!!!), and then took the boys bowling. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen a four year old yell at a bowling ball meandering down the lane. Thank God for bumper bowling. A actually tied me in the first game. I don’t know what that says for him, or for me!

And then, suddenly, it was Monday. Mondays are insane. Laundry, groceries (ooh, and Walmart today too, yippee!), work out, change sheets…it just does not end. And now, insomnia has hit and tomorrow is going to be rough. It’s 11:15…I’m never up this late.

I come up with clever posts/rants early in the day and they gradually waste away until by the time I sit down to write, they’re gone.

So now, until I fall asleep on the sofa, I’m farting around on the computer. Don’t that just sound fun?

Whaddya think?
